Recording SOUP!

Currently, I am working with SOUP! to record, mix and produce their new single. After a long 9 hour day in the studio, the band were happy with the result leaving me to begin mixing. Here is a small insight into the recording session:

AKG 414's as overheads in a cardioid polar pattern
AKG 414's as drum overheads
AKG 451 as a hi-hat microphone
Placed inside the kick drum in line with the kick drum beater to capture the attack and punch of the kick drum
Electro-Voice RE20 as a kick drum microphone
Amp placed on a chair to reduce reflections from the floor. Two Sm57's placed in the Fredmans technique position just left of the centre of the con.e
SM57 Fredmans technique on guitar amp
Placed closed to the grill to reduce proximity effect. Microphone is placed centre of the cone
The Electro-Voice RE20 on the bass amp
